Do you feel more safety in the surveillance society?
Introduction:It is widely believed that the society which use more technology is more safety than before.As Jacqui smith point that,"there had been a 27% fall in robbery and a 26% reduction in burglary in the north-east of England over the last two years."(http://news.bbc.co.uk,2oo8).There are, however, someone's privacy to be violate by this.In contemporary society, a lot of technologies such as CCTV are widely used in our life. It is universully acknowledged that these technologies plays a pivotal role in the life.Lower enforcement agencies through this to track down a lot of criminal. Can it be argued that technology will keep society safe and stable? However, some people said that CCTV and some technology will violate some person's privacy, and also technology has successfully made many individuals overly dependent on it. This is exemplified by several academic experts. They said,"although crime my be reduced in the necessarily small areas covered by the cameras, it is displaced elsewhere."(http://www.bbc.co.uk,2008). Does it will curb proliferation crime well?Do you trust your information is not misused by the organisations of CCTV? Do you think you have some secrets and privacy? This essay will sum up the benefits and drawbacks of using more technology to fight crime, in order to verify whether the society should use technology and science to protect citizens safety.

Paragraph3:The surveillance society also have some disadvantage.When we use CCTV to record citizens active in the life,the CCTV also record some people's privacy.Everyone don't like the other person to know where you are, what are you doing all the time.And some information will be used by some people to expose in the internet,such as some people's photograph will show in the other people's blog. This active will tarnish some people'sreputation. But when you living in the society,the government have a right to protect you. So you must under the control of the government.In the surveillance society, we will more safety than before.However, in the surveillance society, we will feel not very comfortable.We must pay more attention about our behaviour, and sometimes if we want to do something that doesn't against law, but we don't like other people to know, I think in the surveillance society, it's diffcult to do it.According to JAMES Slack said that,"CCTV is the 21st century equivalent of a night-watchman, but unlike a night-watchman it never blinks, it never takes a break and it never gets bored."(Dally Mail,2008). But with the developing of technology, the government will make some law to protect citizens privacy.So we don't worried about it.

conclusion: I think surveillance society has more advantage than drawbacks. We need more technology to protect citizens.
